Dear colleagues!

On behalf of the Organizing Committee I am pleased to invite you to the 3rd International Eastern European Conference "Interdisciplinary aspects of diagnosis and treatment of craniomandibular dysfunctions", which will be held on September 10-11th 2016 in St. Petersburg (Russia). This conference was held earlier in St. Petersburg in 2014 in the hotel Corinthia 5 * (The information can be seen on the site www.cmfc.su)

           There are also photos and videos from the conference. During this time, some experience in rehabilitation of patients with these diseases, new diagnostic techniques, new approaches of treatment, scientifically based new treatment standards have been accumulated. Much attention is paid to the functional diagnostic methods: electromyography, axiograpthy, gnatographt, sonography, stabillometry. These diagnostic methods are not only theoretical, as it was earlier. On the other hand, , sometimes the only correct plan of patients rehabilitation is built on the basis of their data.

           Today no one disputes the need for an integrated approach to the rehabilitation of patients with disorders of the temporomandibular joint and masticatory muscles. However, many questions remain on the composition of the team of professionals who need to work together, the sequence of their work and the role of each participant.

                Various schools differently interpret the approaches to the strategy and tactics of management of patients with craniomandibular disorders. Is it always necessary to strive to restore the articular disc in the correct position? Is it always possible? CT or MRI of the TMJ must be prescribed to the patients for diagnosis of the disease? What research is more informative? One or three mouthguards should take the doctor  for mioreleaxation and stabilization of the position of the mandible? Or it may be better to use equalizer?  What is the stability of the treatment outcome? What is the role of “A” botulinum toxin treatment? Who should perform these injections and what are the indications? Long term effects of muscle relaxation? The role of NSAIDs and other drugs in the treatment of craniomandibular disorders? Is arthroscopy or open surgery of the TMJ more effective? These and many other questions you can get answers on our conference.         We plan its holding in the same style as in 2014: a few thematic sessions with questions to the speakers and discussions.

The conference will provide a series of master classes on the most urgent topics. A big interest in this topic is noticed in a society of professionals. The conference participants are expected from the countries of CIS and foreign countries: Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, USA, Italy and the Nordic countries. The event is so popular, because of:

  • Accessibility for the participants from neighboring countries;
  • This is a practical conference with well-thought-out program;
  • Recent events, hot topics in the area of KMD will be discussed by leading professionals with presentation of high-quality lectures;
  • The gained knowledge will be action-oriented and can be used by the conference participants in their daily work;
  • Simultaneous translation in English and Russian - to provide the maximum amount of knowledge and experience to all participants;
  • Certificates of participation;
  • Exhibition of the leading companies in this field, demonstration of the latest innovations, future trends
  • Reasonable and attractive payment for participation.

      The recognized lecturers from around the world (Germany, USA, Italy, Lithuania, China , Russia) will take a speech on the conference with reports and presentations on the most relevant topics in the field of KMD. The conference has already received a lot of attention from the guests, and we look forward to participation of 350-500 people from among dentists-general practitioners and specialists in the field of implantology, orthodontics, periodontics, orthopedics, dental surgery, oral surgeons, dental technicians and specialists of general medicine (otolaryngologists, neurologists, osteopaths, physiotherapists, psychologists).

Several well-known scientific and educational institutions in our region give scientific support to the conference: First Pavlov State Medical University of St. Peterburg, Institute for Postgraduate Dental Education, Dental Association of Russia and St. Petersburg Dental Association.

         Cordially invite you to participate in the 3rd International Scientific and Practical Eastern European Conference  "Interdisciplinary Aspects of craniomandibular dysfunction".

Sincerely, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference

Professor Fadeev Roman Aleksandrovich
